The Sciemetric Leak Test System performs an accurate leak test on a truck rear brake assembly, which includes the brake lines and wheel cylinders, and will detect leaks as small as 3 cubic centimeters per minute. The system incorporates many features that simplify the entire test, including a quick connect fixture to connect to the brake line, and a bar code scanner that scans the truck axle code and the brake part code. After scanning both of these codes, the system verifies that the codes are valid and compatible.
The system periodically performs an automatic on-line self diagnosis to verify the functionality and accuracy of the entire leak testing unit. SPC analysis is automatically performed on the leak rates of the axles during run-time, which updates daily averages, CpK, standard deviation, X bar, range charts and histograms. This data is saved in a daily file, and can be retrieved for future use. Each axle can be traced to verify its leak rate, time and date of assembly, and any message pertaining to the axle. All features are easily accessed through a menu driven environment.
