Job Summary 

To support the sales and business development functions through inside sales activities.  This position requires a strong sales and marketing aptitude coupled with a solid technical background to enable a quick and thorough understanding of Sciemetric products, how they work, and how they add value to prospective customers manufacturing systems.

Reports to: VP Sales


  • Always project a favorable image of Sciemetric, its products, and its employees to our customers
  • Instill our customer a sense of confidence in our abilities to meet their needs
  • Maintain and support sales with maintenance of the opportunities database
  • Work as a team member to qualify and close all deals by assisting with:
    • Writing proposals; and
    • Creation, issuing and delivering quotes to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Daily contact with Sales to assist with the sales process and account management
  • Warm calling to generate new business – existing customers, new leads from advertising and/or trade shows, handoff live leads to a Business Development Manager
  • Cold calling to new prospects
  • Regularly contact all representative and distributor firms to assist with forecasts, quoting and support documentation
  • Help prepare sales bookings and revenue forecasts, and report on other sales functions 
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy, payment and shipping terms, and work with sales to rapidly resolve open issues
  • From time to time assist marketing to organize seminars, direct mailers and trade shows

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary technical education - technician or technologist preferred (university or community college)
  • Strong sales and marketing aptitude 
  • Technical background in automotive and industrial manufacturing processes, industrial automation, test and measurement, and software and hardware systems for quality control 
  • A good technical understanding of instrumentation, electrical measurements and sensors would be an asset

Desirable Attributes

  • Salesforce experience would be an asset
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, charismatic
  • Ability to understand and effectively explain Sciemetric technology to potential customers
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
