Location: Delhi
Reporting: The India Medical Business Development Manager reports to the Global Business Development Manager Medical Market at Cincinnati Test Systems and locally to Sciemetric India.

Position Summary:

The Medical Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for primarily developing and expanding the organization’s India Medical customer base through increased penetration within both new and existing customers.

The Medical BDM’s main objective is to continually grow the organization’s business in the Medical industry within India. New customer development should be considered the single most important element of the BDM’s area of responsibility.

The Medical BDM will support the organization relative to the execution of sales objectives established annually by the organization’s management team. Roles of the BDM position will include: developing and implementing an industry approach strategy, identifying industry target customers, directly engaging these customers to review and quote solutions to their requirements, providing input into the product development groups, and working closely with the organization’s Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Support teams to ensure revenue and new customer development objectives are met.


  1. Act as the organization’s Growth Champion for the India Medical industry by:
    • Developing and implementing strategies to target and penetrate Medical customers.

    • Identifying, contacting and developing Medical customers with significant revenue potential and, particularly, those who have global reach and extend beyond the boundaries of India.

    • Identifying, engaging and cultivating ongoing relationships with Integrator/Machine Builder customers within India that are strategically aligned to serve the Medical market.

  2. Support the organization’s Sales efforts by:
    • Traveling, as needed, within India to support the agreed upon growth initiatives.

    • Conducting frequent customer visits to grow relationships and increase sales by performing application reviews, technical seminars, demos and providing ongoing support to those customers.

    • Providing training, support and technical expertise to all sales channels to aid them in successfully selling the organization’s full line of products and systems to the Medical industry and reinforcing to them that the organization is committed to continued growth and expansion of their Medical customer base.

  3. Become the organization’s Medical industry leader and expert by:
    • Developing a strong technical product and application expertise with the ability to recognize customer’s Medical applications and the products best suited to be used as solutions for testing of those applications.

    • Collecting information on competitors within the Medical market and provide benchmarking material to organization’s marketing and/or R&D teams that will help to better position the organization vs our competitors.

    • Recommending future products or enhancements to the organization’s management that will address customer needs and further expand the organization’s Medical business.

    • Participating in the product planning process to help define the product development roadmap focusing on ideas that can expand the organization’s reach into the Medical market with new customers.

  4. Collaborate with the organization’s Marketing efforts by:

    • Organizing seminars & webinars focused on the penetrating customers within the India Medical industry.

    • Suggesting and supporting the organizations trade exhibitions.

  5. Meet or exceed then-current KPI’s with regard to Contacts, Quotes and Orders (examples below….subject to change):

    • [KPI #1] Number of Contact activities in respect to build up medical market

    • [KPI #2] Number of active quotes for medical applications

    • [KPI #3] Number of orders for medical applications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience

  • Fluency in English

  • 3+ years of customer facing experience in applications or customer support roles, ideally with Medical customers (understanding of the industry)

  • Strong technical sales aptitude and ability to close orders

  • Proven track record of developing new accounts including a willingness to prospect for new accounts.

  • Excellent written, oral, communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to quickly learn the value of the organizations offerings and be able to clearly articulate this to customers

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Developed interpersonal skills, strategic thinker capable of tactical execution

  • Above average computer skills (including Microsoft Office) with the ability to learn and use organization-specific software as required

  • Willingness to travel a minimum 50% or as required to ensure successful execution of business plan
