Sciemetric among 11 companies to share $41M investment to bolster Canada's auto sector

January 17, 2018 – Ottawa, Canada – Sciemetric Instruments is among 11 Canadian companies to receive investment from the Government of Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) in support of the nation’s automotive sector.

The announcement was made Jan. 17 by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. The 11 companies, located in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia, will share a total of $41 million.

The intent of the SIF is to help create well-paying, middle-class jobs and drive long-term prosperity across all sectors of the Canadian economy by attracting and supporting quality business investments.

The $41 million is expected to create or maintain 2,600 jobs in Canada’s automotive sector, by supporting technological advancements that will make vehicles safer and more fuel-efficient.
