Electronics Systems Engineer
(Level II/III)

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer (Level II or III) to execute the end-to-end development and maintenance of industrial electronics products designed for a 10-year service life. Operating within a team of 2–5 engineers, you will work closely with and report directly to our Senior Electronics Systems Engineer. This is a full-time, in-person role based out of our Ottawa region facility.
In this position, you will help transform engineering specifications into reliable, factory-ready hardware for international markets. This hands-on role is ideal for an engineer eager to own day-to-day circuit design, PCB layout, prototyping, benchmarking, and firmware development.
Key Responsibilities

Design Execution: Translate engineering specifications into electronic designs, executing component selection, schematic capture, and multi-layer PCB layout.

Prototyping & Testing: Build, bring up, and debug prototype hardware. Design and assemble testing protocols and automated test fixtures to validate product quality.

Firmware Development: Leverage microcontrollers and FPGA to implement control and communication interfaces to front-end hardware

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues or external contractors on firmware development, embedded software, mechanical design, thermal management, EMC compliance, and documentation.

Manufacturing Support: Assist in coordinating with external suppliers and contract manufacturers, preparing manufacturing packages, and resolving production-line technical issues.

Sustaining Engineering: Support operational continuity for hardware deployed worldwide by performing root-cause analysis on field failures, testing design updates, and addressing component obsolescence.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. P.Eng designation or eligibility/registration as an EIT with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is desirable.
- Experience: 1 to 7 years of hands-on experience in electronics product design, with a track record of contributing to hardware products that reached commercial production. Technical
- Skills: Strong proficiency with PCB design suites (e.g., Altium Designer) and circuit simulation tools.
- Industrial Automation & DAQ: Desirable experience working with PLCs and data acquisition solutions.
- Hardware Fundamentals: Understanding of design principles, including design for manufacture, signal integrity, power distribution, thermal mitigation, and EMC/EMI.
- Lab & Troubleshooting: Ability to use standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital multimeters) to debug hardware and perform root-cause analysis.
- Location: Must be located in or willing to commute daily to our Ottawa region location.
Salary Range

$85,000 to $125,000
