Electrical Controls Engineer

Sciemetric Integrated Systems Division, a one-stop shop for designing, building, integrating and supporting turnkey machines and systems, is seeking an experienced professional Control Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the designing of electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic control systems, specification of components, preparation of circuit diagrams, and development of PLC/HMI code for automated leak detection equipment.
Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for control system design, programming, machine startup, customer interface and machine runoff. You will determine power requirements for leak detection equipment electrical control systems. Design electrical control systems consisting of conductors, relays, PLCs, HMIs, and other components as well as design electrical control systems interface circuitry. You will specify appropriate hardware components for the designed electrical control system and prepare circuit diagrams to represent the system. You will determine requirements for leak detection equipment; pneumatic/hydraulic control systems and design these control structures consisting of valves, flow devices, and other components. You will specify appropriate hardware components for the designed pneumatic/hydraulic control system. You will define sequence of machine operations according to test requirements.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing circuit diagrams to represent the system
- Creating and document BOM for system hardware
- Startup and debug of designed control system
- Development and debug of HMI software
- Ensuring that the equipment is designed, built and performs to standard
Desired Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who has at least 2 years’ experience in control system design of automation and industrial equipment; PLC programming and machine startup/debug. Pneumatic and hydraulic systems design and project management is strongly preferred.
- Associates Or Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
- Experience with:
- Siemens Tia Portal
- Step 7, Siemens Drives
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong project and time management skills
- Troubleshooting and innovative problem solving skills
