Sciemetric celebrates 30 years in business in 2011
Company has grown from a few employees in one location to an international organization with a stable of Fortune 500 customers worldwide
2011 marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of Sciemetric Instruments, whose technology has been used by some of the world’s largest manufacturers to improve quality and their manufacturing processes. The company’s process monitoring and quality management systems and software help manufacturers monitor the variables that impact critical manufacturing processes. This, in turn, enables them to improve product quality and maximize profitability.
Engineer Nathan Sheaff founded Sciemetric Instruments in 1981 as a company that designed measurement systems for a range of industries. In the early 1990s, it was Sheaff who developed Sciemetric’s innovative Process Signature Verification (PSV) technology. The company has grown under his leadership from its beginnings with a few employees in its Ottawa headquarters to an award-winning international organization with subsidiaries in the U.S., Europe and Asia, and boasting an impressive list of Fortune 500 customers worldwide.
“Sciemetric celebrating 30 years in business is a testament to PSV technology, which has been adopted and specified into the production lines of manufacturers across the world,” said Sheaff, founder and CEO of Sciemetric. “Our strong team has done a fantastic job developing and supporting a set of quality management tools that solve real, costly problems for manufacturers. We’re very proud that Sciemetric has helped its customers create better quality products at a lower cost, and we look forward to the next 30 years.”
Manufacturers in the automotive, industrial and medical sectors use sigPOD and QualityWorX, hardware and software platforms based on PSV technology, to manage quality on their production lines. The expandable sigPOD hardware platform is designed to seamlessly integrate into the production line while Sciemetric’s analytics software, QualityWorX, provides full visibility into manufacturing processes by capturing test data and enabling thorough analysis of the entire process. These tools allow companies to gain full visibility and control over manufacturing processes to reduce cost, manage quality, maximize yield and improve traceability.
